Andrew Briggs is a Professor of health systems and services research at Curtin University. In addition to a part-time professorial appointment, Andrew works clinically as a physiotherapist and in health policy and service design roles. He is internationally recognised for expertise in the development, implementation and evaluation of Models of Care for musculoskeletal conditions and other non-communicable diseases. He has led the development of several Models of Care for musculoskeletal conditions, most recently the Victorian Model of Care for Osteoarthritis of the Hip and Knee.
Andrew brings his expertise to several roles outside of his academic and clinical positions including:
- Honorary Professor, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Macquarie University
- Co-lead for the WA Musculoskeletal Health Network, Department of Heath, Government of Western Australia
- World Health Organization Kobe Centre Scientific Review Group Member, WHO Kobe Centre, Japan
- Clinical Advisor, Clinical Panel WorkSafe Victoria
Andrew is on the advisory committee for the OPUS CRE and works with the ECCO project team.
