The Dame Kate Campbell Fellowships were recently announced, and A/Prof Michelle Dowsey was one of the lucky few to be awarded a fellowship.
The OPUS team was delighted to learn that our own A/Prof Michelle Dowsey was awarded a Dame Kate Campbell Fellowship. Named in honor of Dame Kate Campbell (1899-1986), a paediatrician whose pioneering work established a link between excess therapeutic oxygen and retrolental fibroplasia among premature infants, these prestigious fellowships recognize and reward outstanding research performance and commitment to the values of the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. All those who know Michelle and her work will also know that this recognition is undoubtedly well deserved. Over the fellowship period Michelle will continue her fantastic work, which is largely focused on improving the care offered to patients with end-stage osteoarthritis.
